Description

The empowering tale of a knight who emotionally sheds the only identity hes ever known to discover his true self, from writer Grgoire Laforce and illustrator Charlotte Parent

From the moment he was born, all Milo has ever known is knighthood. He eats, sleeps, and breathes it every moment of his life, never taking his armor off even for a minute. After all, Milo lives in the shadow of generation upon generation of knights before him and feels duty-bound to defend his colony should a dragon ever attack. But while training one day, rain begins to fall and eventually turns Milo's armor to a pile of rust, leaving the young knight weakened and unable to move. It isn't until a chance encounter with a court jester, who helps him shed his armor and lay down his spear, that Milo has his first taste of freedom.

Reviews

A sweet tale about overcoming fears that uniquely merges the insect and medieval worlds. Recommended for picture book collections. * School Library Journal *
Parents pastel-driven illustrations bring the story to vibrant life, treating Milos progression with sensitivity and care to reveal the true might of the boy under the armour. Her flourishing touches and compelling characters are eye-catching and engaging for even the youngest of readers. * Montreal Review of Books *
Individual young readers will take pleasure in the humour of the book, and parents and teachers looking for a story about finding out how to embrace ones selfhood and open up to new possibilities will enjoy Milo, the Knight. * Canadian Review of Materials *
