Had me laughing out loud more than once and kids will love it too. An absolute hoot. * Booktrust *
Humour-galore! If you want something to make you laugh this summer, read this book! * The Book Activist *
Full of whacky humour plus lively illustrations * Parents In Touch *
This cautionary tale will make children yelp in agreement and roll around with laughter, but ultimately leave them appreciating their brother or sister a little bit more. They wont need any encouragement to read it either. With a simple and engaging style of writing, and plenty of twists and turns in the plot, readers will be hooked from page one. A great story with a likeable lead character and some important lessons * BookTrust on I SWAPPED MY BROTHER ON THE INTERNET *
Jo Simmons began her working life as a journalist. Her first fiction series for children, Pip Street, was inspired by her own kids love of funny fiction, and two Super Loud Sam books followed. My Parents Cancelled My Birthday is Jo's third book for Bloomsbury. In addition to childrens fiction, she has also co-written a humorous parenting book, Can I Give Them Back Now: The Aargh To Zzzz of Parenting, published by Square Peg. Jo lives in Brighton with her husband, two boys and a scruffy formerly Romanian street dog. Nathan Reed has been a professional illustrator since graduating from Falmouth College of Arts in 2000. He was shortlisted for the Serco Prize for Illustration in 2014. When hes not illustrating he can be found with his two boys and a football on Peckham Rye Common.
