Lesters first days as a fifth grader at Quarry Elementary school are not even a little bit like he thought they would be--the cafeteria is too loud for Lesters ears.

Before, Lester was always taught at home, and he liked it that way. But thats finished now, and Lesters stuck in a school where everything just seems wrong. Thats until he hears about the science fair. He is so eager to win with his airplane wing experiment. When Lester accidentally mistakes an envelope from school as the winner announcement, he reads something hes not meant to see. Like Fish in a Tree and Wonder, Superstar is a book about discovering that you do belong.

Author Bio

Mandy Davis grew up in Indiana, and earned her MFA in writing for children and young adults from Hamline University. Before being bitten by the writing bug, Mandy was an elementary school teacher, a record store clerk, and once she even sold hamburgers on the sidewalk. Superstar is her first novel.
