"There once was one, Rotund Pelican.
He wasn't the only Pelican,
but he was the only one
who looked like a weighed a ton!..."
The Rotund Pelican is a fun loving big bird that boldly follows his belly day-to-day at play in the beach surf and sand.
One day his big appetite gets him in trouble he cant wait for others and a has a personal pig out that results in a lot of other empty pelican bellies. As a result, Rotund is shunned for his selfish gluttony and for spoiling the family feast.
Ashamed, Rotund flees his fellow pelicans - taking flight he flies overnight and lands far away on Isolation Island.
A newcomer among complete strangers Rotund must learn his manners as he lives in exile until his lesson is learned. Along the way, Rotund gets the hang of sharing and caring and becomes popular in his new domain.
Enjoying his newfound confidence he decides its finally time to go back home from and share his adventures with his Pelican Squadron. The only problem is he fled in such a worried hurry that he couldnt remember his way home.
As a result of losing his way, Rotund follows the sun all the way around the world until he finally recognizes his old stomping grounds.
Rotund lands and at first his old peers dont recognize him as hes changed so much - the grueling long flight home has slimmed him down - but once he announces himself all the pelicans rejoice in shock and amazement. Hes been missed so much and has redeemed his status as everyones favorite pelican. Hes now the Returned Pelican.
The End.
