Description

Silas is a scarecrow who has a very big problem; he is afraid of crows. When crows come to the corn field that he is standing in, instead of doing his job and scaring the crows away, Silas does nothing. He cannot even summon up the courage to shout at the birds. Not long ago Silas saw another scarecrow, who was a friend of his, being picked apart by a flock of crows,. Not surprisingly he now has a mortal fear of the intelligent and determined birds. Then one morning the farmer comes to the field. Perhaps he is there to replace Silas with a scarecrow who can actually scare crows. It turns out that the farmer has something else in mind. He gives Silas a job, and the job is a very important one. Somehow Silas is going to have to dig deep and find the courage to do what is being asked of him.
