Lenny has spent most of his life at the zebra crossing, and for many of those years Otis, the singing 'zebra man' has helped him on his way. But when Otis' sad past comes back to haunt him, Lenny is forced to face his crossroads alone. Only by examining the memories of their friendship can Lenny discover the truth.
"An original and touching coming of age story, full of insight ... Scattered with song lyrics, and seeded with truths, this memorable and absorbing story moved me to tears" -- LoveReading4Kids
"A joyful reading experience that will provoke tears as well as laughter" -- BookTrust
"A truly remarkable book which captures the soul of the reader ... A very powerful and poignant novel which captures so well the impact a relationship can have on a life and highlights how music and memory are so deeply entwined. A wonderful read!" -- Carousel
"This is a cleverly woven piece, with a sympathetic bond between two people, and, as in Butcharts light-hearted book, an awareness that although some people arent highly valued by society, they are highly valuable as individuals and in the role they play" -- Minerva Reads, Blog
"Engaging and entertaining" -- The Letterpress Project
