Reviews

"Ardent advocacy for Afghan peace." Kirkus Reviews

"In this glowing picture book translated from Spanish, a small Afghan girl dreams of peace. () True to a childs experience, the storys power is in the contrasts, and young children will recognize that the basic things they take for granted are missing in others daily lives." Booklist

Author Bio

Ana Eulate is the founder and CEO of Cuento de Luz, a Childrens Picture Book Publishing Company created in 2010. A strong engagement with NGOs together with the use of sustainable materials in the book production (especially the exclusive use of Stone Paper in all books), resulted in a B Corp certification in 2015. She has been featured as a Top 100 Woman Impact Leader 2021 due to her work in creating a positive social and environmental impact for over a decade. Eulate has a strong international background having worked at the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Madrid, being appointed Commercial Attache to the Spanish Embassy in Rio de Janeiro, and assigned to the General Directorate for External Relations of the European Commission in Brussels.

Sonja Wimmer loves painting pictures and telling stories. After studying and working for some years as a graphic designer in her hometown of Munich and Brussels, she decided to pack her suitcase and move to Barcelona to study Illustration at the Llotja Arts and Crafts School. Since then, she lives between brushes and stories, working as an illustrator and freelance for publishers and other customers worldwide. She has received many awards for her work in the United States, most notably Gold Medal for Best Illustrator for The Word Collector.
