First-time author Amarius Reed is giving her readers a glimpse into a time in rural Kentucky inspired by her own family. She loves sharing the laughter and memories heard through many stories shared by her dad and uncle. Kentucky has a special place in her heart and Amarius hopes to provide a window into the beautiful Bluegrass State during a time when racism wasn't so black and white.
Amarius is an elementary educator who loves reading and teaching children's literature. She enjoys the genre of historical fiction, and finds this as an entertaining way to expose children to historical events and periods in history. Experience post-slavery in Kentucky through this first historical fiction novella about a family that rose above it all.
