Cue the trumpets! As the legendary 5th grade medieval banquet at Dana Elementary nears, 11-year-old Aldo Zelnick and his friends Jack and Bee develop knight fever, don homemade armor, and undertake quests as simple as cleaning up trash in the neighborhood park, as chivalrous as helping a family in a financial pinch, and as heroic as confronting a new kid with knavish intentions.
Meanwhile, Easter is also coming, and Aldo keeps catching glimpses of a fluffy white tail
This eleventh installment in an A-to-Z alphabet series also includes a glossary of fun and challenging K words, such as klutz, kowtow, and keister.
"I've been waiting for a series to come along that could knock Wimpy Kid off its pedestal as the most popular series in my library. Well, this may be it: the Aldo Zelnick Comic Novels. Save room on your shelves for 26 volumes!" -- Donna Dannenmiller, elementary librarian "This terrific series will be enjoyed by all readers and constantly in demand. Highly recommended." -- South Sound Book Review Council "As a teacher of 20 years, I have never come across a series that has engaged readers so intensely, so quickly. The boys in my reading group devoured the books and were sad when they finished the most recent one." -- Cheryl Weber, elementary teacher "We recommend A is for Aldo! Hilarious stories, goofy drawings, and even sneaky new vocabulary words. If you are an admirer of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, you'll adore Aldo Zelnick." -- Oak Park Public Library "The Aldo Zelnick books are consistently better written and better illustrated than any Wimpy Kid book. Aldo is a lovable character with realistic child-like thoughts. His stories have lots of heart and learning opportunities, and they're lots of fun to read." -- Katie Fitzgerald, children's librarian "These books made my son enjoy reading, and I can't thank you enough!" -- Melanie Ault "This is a fun series that my students adore." -- Katherine Sokolowski, 5th grade teacher "Every library that serves Wimpy Kid fans (which, honestly, is every library, period) should have the Aldo Zelnick series on its shelves." -- Katie Ahearn, children's librarian, Washington, D.C. "Aldo is an endearing narrator. His deadpan sense of humor is enjoyable even for adults. Each book is a fast-paced, light read, perfect for the kid looking for a transition from comics to chapter books." -- Sarah, children's buyer, Left Bank Books "You will laugh out loud--I guarantee it. The books are THAT funny." -- Becky Bilby, In the Pages reviews "Amazing. Totally blows Wimpy Kid out of the water." -- a Barnes & Noble reviewer "This book will appeal to kids not yet ready for the middle-school life portrayed in Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid series but who have aged out of the irreverent potty humor of Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants series. -- Kathleen Meulen Ellison in School Library Journal "When I am reading an Aldo Zelnick book in RTI, I don't want to go back to my classroom. Somehow I want to keep reading...and I don't like reading." -- an elementary student
