Now Dad has got a mohawk -
It must be two feet tall!
It's scraping on the ceiling!
Oh, I don't like this at all.
Dad usually looks fairly sensible, so it's a bit surprising when he starts appearing with outlandish new hairstyles! Then things get weirder when he turns up in odd and eccentric clothes! Why can this be Has he gone mad No, it's a fancy dress party!
Praise for MURRAY THE RACE HORSE: Fables From The Stables Book 1:
"The Fables from the Stables series is aimed at children ready to leave picture books behind and wade into easy chapter books. All of the stories in the series are told in quick rhyme (similar to a limerick pattern) which adds to the humor and interest of the tale.... Fun, quick, and engaging. Definitely a good addition to an underrepresented section of children's literature (early reader chapter books)." --ReadingRumpus
"The first in a series called
"Fables from the Stables",
Murray the Race Horse
defies standard labels.
A long early reader
A not-quite-chapter-book
Share it with young readers
they might be hooked." --Travis Jonker, School Library Journal blog 1,000 Scope Notes
