After an exciting day at the museum, Angel is inspired! With all the art supplies he can gather, he knows the dinosaur he draws will be perfect. But soon, fear and frustration take root - why can't he seem to draw exactly what he sees in his head And even worse, what if he keeps making mistakes It's through some emotional self expression and a little encouragement that Angel begins to explore and appreciate the process of making art. Then of course, he can create something he is proud of, even if it's not perfect. This sophomore title from upcoming storyteller Pavonis Giron (A Rainbow in Brown) employs innovative art techniques to explore the joys of the creative process.
"This is a wonderful story about perseverance and finding beauty in the imperfect...Relatable and encouraging." -Booklist
"Bold pinks, purples, and oranges lend gouache and colored pencil scenes an energy that aptly conveys the story's emotional arc--from opening excitement to disappointment to closing pride." - Publisher's Weekly
Creator of A Rainbow in Brown, Pavonis Giron creates with bold colors and a taste for exploration, whether that is in the great outdoors or between city blocks. The sun-bleached rocks and endless skyscapes of their childhood in the Mojave Desert continue to inspire their work especially in gouache, pastels, and colored pencil. They are now currently based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with their partner and pets.
