"Ashlyn & Sabine" follows Ashlyn on an emotional journey of discovery which teaches her that heartache is reversed by accepting new love in other words, filling your heart vacancy. This charming recollection of a girl and her dog encourages healthy expressions of emotion and healing. Many readers will resonate with the pure joy of being united with their own furry friends.
When Ashlyn adopts the fluffy, mischievous Sabine to fill her heart vacancy she begins a relationship we all treasure. With delightful watercolor illustration throughout, this book will warm the heart and encourage readers, young and old, that healing is right around the corner.
Ashlyn Bowden is a baker, maker, and story-crafter residing in the historic city of Williamsburg, Virginia. Ashlyn began writing children's books for herself and her siblings before she could even spell, and her love for literature, particularly children's literature, has only grown since. She is an avid cook and baker who believes that the simplest moments are the most worthy of celebration. Her passion for both food and journaling collide on her food blog, Plate Fete. Ashlyn is fanatically passionate about many things, but most notably; her faithful and fluffy friend, Sabine-- a miniature Bernedoodle, her husband Josh-- who loves eating as much as Ashlyn loves baking, and her baby girl Eivelyn-- who has not been around for very long but makes Ashlyn's heart explode with the largest of loves every single day.
She considers the role of children's book author to be both an honor and a responsibility. Ashlyn writes with the foreknowledge that books shape ideas, imaginations, vocabulary, and ultimately, lives. Her hope for Ashlyn & Sabine, and every other work, is that her readers will learn how to name and understand the inter-workings of their hearts and minds, and the feelings of those around them.
