Aaron Reynolds meets The Great British Baking Show in this tale of a hapless snake just trying to bake a cake! All Blake the snake wants to do is bake a cake for his friend Drake's birthday. But mistake after mistake means he keeps having to pump the brakes. How can he share a delicious dessert at the picnic party if each time he bakes, he burns the cake, or it falls in the lake, or-watch out! EARTHQUAKE! Time to give it another take, Blake. Sheer determination is his only hope as he bakes and bakes and BAKES a new cake. Married duo Amy and Alison Young will leave readers in stitches as they follow this rambunctious reptile on his quest for the perfect bake.
Amy and Alison Young are a married author-illustrator team who have been creating projects together since their awkward teenage years. After earning a degree in animation from the Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design, Alison uses it to draw silly pictures for her two comic blogs, while Amy uses her literary degree from Metropolitan State University in Denver to write silly words. Blake the Snake Bakes a Cake is their sophomore picture book, after Mustache Duckstache. You can find Amy and Alison at various comic conventions hawking their whimsical wares and making people laugh.
