Author Bio

Gabrielle Sara Prendergast is a UK born Canadian-Australian. She has been writing since childhood. Formerly a singer/songwriter, she started writing film and television scripts in 1994. Since then she has won several awards and optioned two screenplays, including the children's feature Hildegarde which will be released in cinemas in September 2001. Gabrielle also wrote, produced and directed the experimental short film A Poet with Attitude, which screened and won an award at the inaugural Brekfest Film Festival at the Art Gallery of NSW. Gabrielle is a regular teacher at Sydney University for the Certificate in Film and Video, as well as a mentor at Sydney's TopNest. She is also one of the mediators of the popular screenwriter's BBS at www.inkspot.com. In addition to film writing Gabrielle continues to write short stories, is working on another children's novel and has a number of other projects in the works. She lives in NSW with her husband Leonard and two cats.
