Jean Ure was born and brought up in the suburbs of London. She had her first novel published at only 16 years old and has been writing ever since. She had a series of jobs before enrolling to study drama at the Webber- Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art where she would meet her future husband. Jean enjoys writing books for young girls that deal with real issues in a warm and insightful way that allows even the most reluctant reader to engage. She lives outside of London.
