Lillie Vale is the young adult author of ALA's 2020 Rainbow Books List honoree Small Town Hearts and Beauty and the Besharam. Born in Mumbai, she grew up in Mississippi, Texas, and North Dakota. She writes about girls fighting back, the liminality of between-places, the myriad ways in which we're haunted, and the sometimes monstrous sentience of nature.
