Author Bio

Malia Zimmerman is a children's book author, songwriter, and video editor. Born and raised in Kailua on Oahu, Malia is an avid Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddler, Dragon Boat paddler, and surfer. She has worked as a TV producer and host for her inspirational show on Hawaii's CBS affiliate, KGMB, called You've Got the Power. A song she composed with David Kauahikaua entitled The Littlest Angel by Sandalphon is the musical version of this children's book. She is the proud mom of one son, Michael, and the puppy parent to Liko and Kai, all who appear in this book.Ruth Moen has been a designer and illustrator for more than 30 years. She is the illustrator of nine children's books, several coloring books and two Hawaiian cultural books. She was also the lead character designer and illustrator for an animated educational video produced by OHA titled Pa'a Ke Aupuni: The Reel History of Hawai'i. After graduating from San Jose State University with a degree in graphic design and illustration, she moved to Hawaii where she has worked as an art director, designer and illustrator for ad agencies, design firms and a Japanese department store. Ruth spends much of her time outdoors in Waimanalo with her husband and daughter.
