Henry Fennell grew up in a county-seat fifty miles north of Memphis, Tennessee, in the upper reaches of the Mississippi Delta. He began writing for the radio listener at age fifteen in his home town and continued writing and voicing for radio for over forty years. On Air is Fennell's second novel, following Blind Hill, a young-adult novel set in the summer of 1968, was published in 2017. On Air picks up the story to the summer of 1972, and along with characters from his first book, introduces a new narrator.
