This is an exciting fantasy story with an array of wonderful characters, including the inimitable Mold, told in a fresh and distinctive voice by a promising new writer. Read It Daddy
Full of ripe smells and perilous thrills, this is an engaging debut. The Guardian
The ideas are inspired, the story is gripping and the characters are unique and totally believable The Bookbag
The book is well paced, with lots of twists and turns and a showdown at the end which is so epic and tense It's witty and well-thought out and the use of dialect in the writing would make for an excellent teaching point. The Teaching Booth
This is a fantasy story that will appeal to those who don't normally enjoy fantasy. Parents in Touch
He is a wonderful creation: a loveable and funny character who takes you with him every step of the way on his big adventure. Books for Keeps
Lorraine Gregory creates a fully fleshed-out fantasy world, full of wondrous creatures and horrible humans. The humour is earthy and the action bloody (gruesomely so, at points), and it all combines perfectly in this great read. BookTrust
Lorraine is the daughter of an Austrian mother and an Indian father and was raised on an East London Council Estate. Shes loved reading ever since she first learned how and some of her favourite childrens authors are Roald Dahl, Judy Blume, Frances Hardinge, Beverley Cleary and Astrid Lindgren.
Shes had various jobs over the years including school dinner lady, chef and restaurant manager but secretly she always wanted to be a writer. It was only when she started making up stories to entertain her son that she finally decided to stop being scared, follow her dream and try to get published. After many years of hard work shes thrilled to have achieved her ambition.
Lorraine loves reading fantasy and science fiction and making up new worlds in her stories. Her latest book Interdimensional Explorers is super fun because she can create as many worlds as she likes for her heroes to explore while fighting off evil aliens and generally saving the multiverse
