Rhode Montijo received a BFA in illustration from California College of Arts and Crafts (now California College of the Arts). He is the creator of Si. No!, the first book in the Skeletown picture book series. His other works include Pablo's Inferno, a five issue indie comic series, and the picture books Cloud Boy and The Halloween Kid. He also illustrated Greg Trine's Melvin Beederman, Superhero series, Vicky Rubin's The Three Swingin' Pigs, and Gary Soto's Lucky Luis.
