Lulu Delacre was born in Puerto Rico and her childhood there gave her the inspiration to create Rafi and Rosi. She studied art first at the University of Puerto Rico and later at L''Ecole Suprieure d''Arts Graphiques, in Paris, France. Now living in Maryland with her husband and daughter, Ms. Delacre delights in bringing her Latina heritage to life in books such as Arroz Con Leche; Shake It, Morena; and Salsa Stories. Lulu Delacre naci en Puerto Rico, donde creci cazando lagartijas, haciendo dibujos y escuchando la cancin nocturna del coqu. Estudi arte primero en la Universidad de Puerto Rico y luego en LEcole Suprieure DArts Graphiques, en Pars, Francia. Ahora vive en Maryland con su esposo y su hija. A Lulu Delacre le da mucha satisfaccin crear cuentos en espaol y en ingls que celebran su herencia latina, como por ejemplo: Arroz Con Leche; Shake It, Morena; y Salsa Stories.
