A junior fiction series about an up-and-coming cricketer who is mentored by Australian cricket star Glenn Maxwell. Will Albright is a batting whiz and captain of his local cricket team. But when his coach nominates him to attend a T20 training camp, Will soon discovers that standing out in a sea of young cricket talent isn t easy. Especially when Darren Killer McKinnon, a super-quick pace bowler, has taken a deadly dislike to him. Luckily, Will s hero, Glenn Maxwell, is on hand to provide some much-needed advice. If Will can survive Killer s bouncers, he may just have a shot at making it through the camp alive and gaining a place at the brand-new T20 Youth Academy.
PATRICK LOUGHLIN is a high school English teacher and writer who lives in Sydney with his wife, two daughters and hyperactive spoodle. As a kid, Patrick loved sport, he just wasn't very good at it. His biggest achievement on the cricket field came at 39 years of age when he hit three 'sixes' in a row during a family game of beach cricket. His ten-year-old nephew was bowling at the time. The Glenn Maxwell series is Patrick's second children's book series about sport. GLENN MAXWELL is one of Australia's most promising young cricket players. At just 25 years of age he is a fixture of the Australian One Day International and T20 sides and has featured in the Australian Test team. Glenn is a big-hitting batsman who can also bowl a handy off-spin. After the 2014 Indian Premier League Season, Glenn was labelled the leading Twenty20 cricket player in the world.
