Kathleen Olmstead is the author of several Classic Starts books, including Anne of Avonlea and Moby Dick, as well as Jacques Cousteau: A Life Under the Sea and Matthew Henson: The Quest for the North Pole, both in the Sterling Biographies series. She has also written three other Silver Penny Story books: Pied Piper of Hamelin (9781402783494), Thumbelina (9781402783524), and The Steadfast Tin Soldier (9781402783517). Scott J. Wakefield graduated from Art Center College of Design and has worked as a freelance illustrator for national children's magazines and major publishers such as Scholastic and McGraw-Hill. His most recent picture books are A Crack in the Night (Story-Express) and Woodchuck Chuck (Envision Books). He's also illustrated The Three Little Pigs (9781402784347) and Little Red Riding Hood (9781402783371) in the Silver Penny Story series.
