Description

Drawing is what Martha loves most of all. Her pictures of animals cover the wall. All sorts of creatures, from a whale to a flea Then one day she paints a huge picture of me! Marta is a passionate artist. One day, she paints a lion with such conviction that it bounds off the page and into her studio. So begins a relationship full of invention, creativity and exuberance. Marta paints a universe and embarks on a series of funny and surreal escapades with the lion, but eventually things get out of control - the lion is too wild and too hungry, and he disappears in the middle of their best adventure. Marta is inconsolable, but the only way out is through - so she takes another piece of paper and starts all over again. Beautifully illustrated by powerful and effective line drawings, this story revels in the joy of artistic creation and unbound imagination.

Author Bio

Its Raining Elephants is the collective name of Swiss duo Nina Wehrle and Evelyne Laube, who founded their illustration studio in 2008. They have created several childrens books, including Who is William Tell and The Great Flood.
