Being twelve years old is hard enough, but Minerva (Minnie) Attwood is becoming a teenager during the Great Depression in the panhandle of Oklahoma. In the United States, 1934 was a difficult year for most everyone in the country, especially those who lived in and around the tiny town of Sutton, OK.
"Minerva's Journey" tells the story of a young girl, her brother Marcus, and the rest of her family as they journey west to Fruita, Utah, leaving everything they know behind. Follow the Attwood family in a historical-based story about choices, perseverance, courage, grief, and, above all, love.
Erin Fletcher was born and raised in the Rocky Mountains and considers crisp, alpine air to be the elixir of life. She received a bachelor's degree in Political Science and History and loves books about history, historical fiction, and biographies.
After a successful career as an executive for tech companies, Fletcher turned to teaching to fill the gap. Her favorite part of the day is reading a chapter in the current novel the students are studying and discussing it with them. That was her favorite part of the school day when she was a student too!
When she isn't writing or doing battle with the weeds in her garden, Fletcher is consumed by genealogy, traveling the world and, best of all, spending time with her favorite humans, her grandkids!
