Its summer vacation, and Robert is off to Camp Chicopee whether he likes it or not (he doesnt). Even though camp looks lame, Robert manages to make a new friend Zach, who knows plenty of jokes and to avoid the irritating Lester, whos pushy and makes a lot of noise. But every time he thinks camp might be starting to get fun, a new problem pops up to torture him. First, he has to learn how to swim even though hes terrified of water. Then, Zach throws a garden snake at the girls on the bus and for some reason blames Robert. Next, Molly the counselors whistle disappears, and guess who Zach accuses of stealing it
In Robert Goes to Camp, Robert learns his lesson about prejudging people and comes to understand what true friendship is all about. Paul Brewers lively illustrations and Barbara Seulings trademark fast pacing, twist-and-turn plotting, and vivid characterization make this an exciting addition to the series.
