This is a lively and beautifully illustrated children's guide to the life and work of the French Impressionist painter Jean Renoir. 'I'm like a little cork thrown into the water and carried away by the current, I paint whatever comes to me. I do not have any rules, nor techniques .' This is what Renoir tells us about himself. Renoir was a painter who believed in doing his own thing and his portraits of young girls and children and his sunny landscapes are filled with joy and light. Filled with wonderful images, the book contains projects and games to delight young readers and help them enter the unforgettable world of Renoir's paintings.
Mila Boutan studied in Fine Arts in Paris where she became the author and illustrator of a number of books for children. Some of her titles include: Cezanne, Degas, Gauguin, Van Gogh and Rousseau. In 1984 she set up her own company, Mila Edition.
