Are cannibals civilised Is the guillotine a humane form of execution Would you be prepared to die to defend your beliefs The story of human civilization is written in blood, so how did we end up where we are today With a mix of provocative facts, gory details and amazing stories of personal courage, Beverley MacDonald takes us on a race through history, as she asks the biggest question of all: what sort of society do you want to live in
Quite simply a superb example of narrative non-fiction...If you can read this and then say history is boring, you have no soul. - The UK Guardian 8 Nov 2003.
