Life on the Ranch with Banjo is a children's short story chapter book for children Kindergarten-5th grades. Features stories focused up on a western lifestyle rooted in agriculture involving virtue based principle and growth mind impacts.
Life on the Ranch with Banjo showcases the agricultural and western lifestyle on a working ranch. He's the head and heart of the ranch, and never shies away from an adventure, or a prank. Banjo, the three-legged dog, is the head ranch wrangler of a Montana ranch, and his different abilities don't slow him down, one bit. He and his ranch crew work together, through thick and thin, to keep the ranch in tip top running order. The crew spend their days working livestock, guarding the ranch and staying one paw ahead of Rascal, the mischievous masked bandit. From rescuing sheep stalked by coyotes, investigating the ruckus in the Mrs. McBauck's hen house, and rolling Rascal, the menacing raccoon, down a hill in a grain bin, to accepting mistakes as forgivable lessons and acknowledging each animal as having their own unique skills and gifts, Banjo and his crew learn life lessons that share the value of family and friendship along the way.
The ranch crew has many adventures that showcase life on a working cattle and sheep ranch, humorous animal antics, encounters with predators, and exciting escapades across the countryside. Each story shares unique life lessons, while also providing value-filled stories within each well-rounded tale.
Provided in the background of each of the 15 short stories within, Life on the Ranch with Banjo, are real-world Ag facts to help in promoting Ag Education, a value or moral message and a component of growth mindset to be an impactful and inspirational component of the story. These layered messages are intentional by the author to plant deeper seeds of interest towards agriculture education and the industry while also sharing stories of teamwork, friendship, perseverance, commitment, work ethic, grace, forgiveness and so much for as the ranch crew lives and works together to help make the best the ranch and all that get to share the Agricultural spaces they get to live on surrounding their Montana ranch.
