Henrietta embarks on a journey to fulfill a nudge she feels from within to return to the beach where she herself hatched. Along the way she encounters many challenges that sea turtles experience. Throughout the storyline social-emotional concepts are woven into the circumstances Henrietta faces. Her story addresses being called to an experience or task, persevering through challenges, pushing through self-doubt, follow-through, and accepting that your work is enough regardless of the outcomes. In the end, she completes her journey and learns to trust that the work she did is enough, even if she does not know how things turn out.
I loved this book. Henrietta is so cute and friendly looking that I just wanted to take her home. The book is very colorful and has lots of great information about marine life. It's a wonderful read for young readers and those who need to be read to. - Anita Heine
This book offers a captivating blend of storytelling, science, and emotional growth, making it a standout choice for both young readers and educators. At its heart is the compelling journey of Henrietta, a determined sea turtle navigating the challenges of the ocean to achieve one vital goal: to lay her nest. But this is far more than a simple animal adventure, it's a rich narrative woven with factual learning and life lessons. - KT
