Description

Johnny Figures It Out is the story of a little rescue dog named Johnny. Johnny is deaf. He learns to navigate life with the help of his family's golden retriever, Casey, and Casey teaches Johnny by allowing him to follow him . The dogs eat together, play together, walk together, and sometimes even nap together. Johnny learns sign language including the signs for stop, come, sit, no, yes, and love! Johnny figures out that life can be confusing, and sometimes scary, at first, but it helps to have a cozy blanket, a friend, and to know that you are loved.

Author Bio

As a First Grade Teacher and a person who welcomes rescue dogs into her home, I wanted to write a book that would speak to the beauty of welcoming a new pet into the home. Especially a dog with special needs. Johnny Figures It Out is the true story of how we were able to welcome Johnny, who is deaf, into our lives. Children will love the story of love and acceptance, and relate to the feeling of being in a new situations.
