Author Bio

The author of Marco & Me, John Marfia, Jr. (Johnny Marfia), started his career as a math teacher and coach. Actively involved in collegiate athletics, coaching, and based upon his distinguished athletic record, exemplary character, and significant contributions, he went on to be inducted into two halls of fame. He later entered the corporate world and was employed in the information technology sector for a Fortune 500 company where he also excelled.

Upon his retirement, John and his wife, MaryAnn, became puppy parents for the first time ... specifically, puppy parents to Marco, a loving Pomeranian. As a devoted and doting puppy daddy, John never anticipated the impact that Marco's arrival would have on their lives, which culminated in Marco being the focus of their love and attention. Marco has brought an unparalleled appreciation for the simple joys in life, and his brightness shines strong amidst unsettling times during the pandemic and sometimes divisive society.

Marco motivated John to become a children's author to share positivity with young readers through Marco's photos and his short stories. As John conveys Marco's feelings, he hopes that children will experience an appreciation for the joy and pureness of the natural beauty of a genuine and real loveable dog.
