The Curious Caterpillar is a charming story that focuses on the path of discovery of a caterpillar hatched from an egg under the sun.
A tiny caterpillar enters the world, aware of its surroundings but not its purpose. The caterpillar hears sounds coming from a large redwood tree. Drawn to the expansive redwood, the caterpillar begins his trek. Along the way, he encounters a variety of scary but friendly creatures. Among them are a ladybug, a snake, and a grasshopper. They each inquire as to what the caterpillar is and where he is going. The caterpillar politely answers, stating that he is in pursuit of his purpose in life.
While commenting on his slow pace, they all wish the caterpillar luck. During his journey, the caterpillar meets more friends and finally climbs up a tree, the possible answer to his questions.
