The Colors of Beautiful is based on a true story about the relationship between charming, yet sometimes bratty Mya, who is in the beginning stages of puberty, and her sassy and "mean" Yaya. Their story expresses the importance of loving ourselves and realizing what makes us beautiful, while embracing and appreciating our differences, regardless of anyone else's opinion. Through their voices, readers will laugh, cry and experience empowerment, while being challenged to believe in themselves. Told from two different points of view, their story represents the importance of cross-generational relationships, personal growth and the power of communication. The Colors of Beautiful will inspire daughters, moms and grandmothers, too!
