Reviews

Wrd About Books magazine review
"This fascinating book supersizes science. It's easy to follow, information and fun and explores lots of science theories and there's the added bonus of making some delicious treats - like ice-cream in a bag or honeycomb. Science has never been so much fun!"

Juno magazine review, 1st August 2022
"This book is full of simple, hands-on experiments children can try at home, which demonstrate jaw-dropping science in a way that is fun and memorable. Step-by-step photographs make the instructions easy to follow, and at the end of each experiment there is a simple explanation of the science with helpful diagrams. The experiments really appeal to children's sense of fun: you can create a chemical reaction with a lemon volcano, see how changes in air pressure can suck a boiled egg into a bottle, and discover why salt makes objects float. Some require adult supervision, but others children can happily try on their own - if you don't mind the mess. The equipment and materials used are inexpensive and many you might already have at home. A great resource for curious children."

"Wow, this one is incredible! It's jam packed full of simple science experiments that children can try themselves (still under adult supervision of course) using mostly things that can be found around the home, especially the kitchen...The book uses real

photographs of children taking part in the experiments, which is really motivating for kids who are reading the book...The end of each experiment has a 'science made simple' section that explains the science behind this experiment. It's just an awesome book!""

Reading Zone, blog review https: //www.readingzone.com/books/kitchen-science-30-awesome-stem-experiments-to-try-at-home/ 7th April 2022
"Kitchen Science is another bright, bold and exciting book packed with practical and creative experiments that can be easily tried at home (or in school) with simple, inexpensive and easily found items from the kitchen cupboard or grabbed from any supermarket. The A4 sized book bursts with clearly numbered and captioned instruction guides to completing the experiment, plus well sized sequences of photographs and excellent extra tips. As with the previous book Science School, there is a fantastic 'Science made simple' section which clearly explains the technical part with concise and child friendly vocab...It is an amazing volume of intriguing experiments for an excellent price; a really impressive addition to simple home science and also to high impact, (low stress preparation) quick STEM activities in school!"

"By exploring the

science of cooking, young readers get a double dose of learning; for instance,
not only how to make their own rock candy, but also how the sugar molecules
form around a seed crystal to create the rock candy. Coupled with clear-cut and
easy-to-follow instructions, color photos showing each step of every
experiment, and a healthy amount of safety warnings, and this makes for a great

way to get kids involved in both the kitchen and the classroom...this is a wonderful

title for both the culinary- and science-inclined kiddo, and we highly

recommend it."

"This book is jammed full of really fun experiments... After each experiment there is a 'Science Made Simple' explanation of the science behind each experiment meaning there is so much to learn at the same time! This is such a great book that I really recommend for children aged 5-11 years. It is one of the best books I've seen on this topic. The perfect book for budding young scientists and cooks! "
