We're a STEMINIST brigade.
Leaving blazing trails behind us
On our groundbreaking crusade.

Written in rhyme with young girls in mind, A Steminist Force is a rallying cry of rhythmic prose that celebrates female contributions in STEM fields across the world and throughout history. From mathematicians to meteorologists, from architects to astronauts, this book celebrates pioneering women's contributions to STEM fields across the world.

With backmatter detailing each woman's individual contributions to her field, this colorful picture book is the perfect classroom or living room tool to introduce children to remarkable women in STEM history and to encourage girls to continue exploring STEM subjects in their own education.

Reviews

The text of this delightful and informative picture book speaks from the mouths of various occupations from calculators, geologists, doctors, engineers, meteorologists, and others who work with STEM. The illustrations feature many women who work in these occupations from writer Mary Shelley to physicist Katherine Johnson. Single and double page spreads provide illustrations fitting a particular occupation and a few women included, each with her name clearly legible. Diverse women from all over the world are featured for their accomplishments. In all, fifty amazing women are identified. Other pages depict girls marching with signs for STEM or Women Power. The last page directs young readers to the list of these women and encourages readers to then find each one as represented and labelled in the text. This book is truly an inspiration for young girls learning of the opportunities available to them and an education for everyone else. * Children's Literature *
