Description

This dazzling nonfiction book is a visual and conceptual exploration of motion across time and space!

Nothing in the universe is in a state of absolute rest. The Earth, its oceans, its atmosphere, and even the continents are in continuous motion. After all, the entire universe is constantly expanding. Add in the movement of humans and animals, and youll realize that the whole world is constantly on the move! From the history of navigation and modes of transportation, to the trajectories of human populations around the globe, to astonishing animal migration patterns, On the Move is an engaging, informative, and visually dazzling overview of movement across time and space.

Reviews

In this Ukrainian import, husband-and-wife team Romanyshyn and Lesiv use bright, retro infographics to examine the concept of movement A wide range of information follows, encompassing the invention of the wheel 6,000 years ago, ancient paths traveled for trade and pilgrimages, forms of exploration (space and seafaring), a consideration of time travel, and much-needed advice to rest and reflect by writing in ones travelogue Vocabulary definitions abound... The action-packed graphics themselves nearly spill off the page, and the italicized text seems to be in perpetual motion... One figure recursreminiscent of the Belgian cartoon character Tintin. Sophisticated graphics, laden with information. * Kirkus Reviews *
