Reviews

Filled with colorful full-bleed illustrations, the titles in the Origami Science Adventures series playfully demonstrate basic science concepts and vocabulary with the help of an origami creature. . . .Though no one concept is explained in any real depth, each book lays out enough information for students (who may need help with terms like cochlea) to pique their curiosity and offer a general idea of how the world works.-- "Booklist"
Glenda, an origami firefly, explains electricity basics to her new friend, a real firefly. She starts with a look at atoms and electrons and continues with how electricity is generated at power plants, the role of natural resources in producing electricity, how electricity travels along power lines, and how electricity follows a path, or circuit. Back matter includes directions for making an origami firefly.-- "Book Links, Get Charged Up"
The molecular events during electricity are explained in detail. The illustrations are presented in context and help readers visualize atomic structure while the labeling enables them to understand the book's complicated terms. . . .This title provides a good introduction to electricity.-- "Reading Today Online"
