Description

Embarrassment can do one! This entertaining guide to puberty gives you all the information you need to hold your head up and enter puberty armed with solid facts.

Puberty need not be scary and unknown. With a colourful and cool design, and bite-size text with attention-grabbing numbers and visuals, find out the facts and stats behind growing up, from how much extra hair you'll grow, to how puberty might make you feel, and what happens when puberty hormones kick in.

Written in a straightforward, down-to-earth way, this book will give you all the information you need to understand and be reassured by any changes puberty throws at you. The book emphasises body positivity and reassures you that everything you are experiencing is totally normal! It also includes a section on gender identity and sexuality.

For children aged 9+, this book is an excellent resource for the PSHE curriculum, and the 2020 RSE curriculum, including consent. While it is perfect for parents, teachers and carers to use for discussion topics, it is also accessible for children to read for themselves.

Liz has worked in publishing for nearly thirty years, writing for magazines and books. She started as an editor for a rock magazine - just as Nirvana hit the scene and Britpop was stirring. Now she's written over 130 books on everything from Tudor clothes to eco fashion, and musical instruments to fossil fuels. She's published biographies about loads of fascinating people - like Nelson Mandela, Elvis Presley, Sigmund Freud, Marie Curie and Adolf Hitler and she has been doing some entertaining infographic books for adults on the lives of Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Christian Dior and Bob Marley have been translated into graphs and charts. After so many years in the business, Liz is always eager to experiment and try something new. There are so many ways to tell a story or present the facts and she has some ideas to share with you...
