This book takes you on a fun journey showing a little boy playing like everyone else. Except he has big curly hair and often get mistaken as a girl.
Kingston Jones, is a fun, happy, and playful little boy. He can sometimes be very shy when new people come around. But once he warms up he is a ball of love and joy. He loves all animals especially his kitten who he rescued from a shelter. Kingston also enjoys playing with his friends at school, from going down the slide to finding treasures in the wood chips. But most of all Kingston absolutely adores his family. The idea for this book came because he asked his mommy one day why do people call him a girl all the time and that it made him sad. So they both decided it was time to create a book to show people that boys can have hair curly hair too. Kingston hopes everyone enjoys his book and learns not to assume a gender just from someone's hair.
Octavia is Kingston's mother who helped him bring this book to life. And loves the fact he own his curls and enjoys how much love one little boy has. As a mother, Octavia often felt sad when Kingston would ask why does everyone call him a girl when he is a boy. And would comfort him by telling him he just has amazing hair.
