Description

A 7-year-old girl, Emmy, moves to a new town with her parents. As she begins the first grade, Emmy quickly begins to feel like the odd girl out. She doesn't know any of the other children in town! To cope with her loneliness, she convinces her parents to adopt a pet cat. Together, Emmy and her cat begin to settle into their new environment.

Emberly Zellars is the author of "My Friend Maddy." She has a BA in Psychology from Spelman College and enjoys being an acrylic paint cartoon artist. If she isn't busy writing or painting, she is probably enjoying podcasts, documentaries, or Smithsonian museums.
