This joyful ode to the everyday moments in a childs life is a child-friendly reimagining of the classic poem Pippas Song by poet Robert Browning. Perfect for Poetry Month and for fans of Liz Garton Scanlon and Cynthia Rylant.
Waffles for breakfast, walking to school with a friend, playing in the park, making dinner, getting tucked into bed...these moments shape the familiar rhythms of a childs life.
This lyrical celebration of the everyday, with the comforting refrain alls right with the world, is the perfect read-aloud for bedtime or anytime.
The years at the spring,
and days at the morn.
Mornings at seven.
Alls right with the world.
"A slice-of-life tale, from dawn to dusk. Drawing inspiration from Robert Brownings Pippas Song, the soothingly written verse and the vibrant mixed-media illustrations bring this bustling, beautiful neighborhood to life and demonstrate that even in an urban setting, there are ways to appreciate nature. A charmer that captures the exuberance of finding happiness in the little things." Kirkus Reviews "Snug details abound; the world is safe; the mood is optimistic, deliberately so... A reassuring lark, meant to soothe, and alls right with this book." School Library Journal
Jennifer Adams has worked in education most of her life and currently is a communications officer. Jennifer is also a dedicated separate sleeper from her husband, to whom she has been very happily married for eight years. Always interested in writing, Jennifer had an article published on Mamamia about why couples might sleep in separate rooms and subsequently was swamped with media interviews. Given the interested response Jennifer decided that it was time to get the sleeping separately conversation out in public. She has spent the last three years talking to as many people as will chat to her about the topic.
