Anyone who knows or has read A Kiss Like This will love Animal Lullabies. Practitioners will enjoy using this CD and beautifully illustrated book to support creative development and literacy in their setting. There is a lot of cross-curricular scope for the text. Our favourite lullabies were Worms read in a French accent, The kangaroo joey in an Australian accent and the Crocodile in a Caribbean accent. The songs encourage children to read, count, play with language and develop new vocabulary. I was a little disappointed that some lullabies were narrated with rhythm to background music rather than sung. Both male and female voices are used, with accents from around the world that intrigued the children. * Practical Pre-School - Issue 42 *
