Description

An exciting debut collection full of magic, adventure, humour and empathy

Ride a silver-maned unicorn, make a witches' brew, head to Star City and become an astronaut. Name your pet mouse Fred, find secrets in the forest and enjoy those glad-to-be-alive days. But don't impersonate your mum on the telephone! From changing schools and missing friends to standing up for nature and helping to save our Earth. Find poems about being kind, feeling sad, or going on an adventure...there's something for everyone in this book.

Reviews

"Fine debut celebrating the reach of poetry in crystalline language. Concern for Granddad in heaven, caring for a parent, flying homework and elusive blackberries. Absent friend, the extent of clouds and Mount Everest mysteries. Iridescent cover. Congrats @DBertulis"

"A wonderful collection of poetry...If youre looking for magic, nature, adventure, humour and empathy, youll love this book."

-- Jo Bowers (Associate Dean & Lecturer: Primary Education) * via Twitter *

"This book is filled to the brim with poetry and very much lives up to its first poetry statement thatPoems are Doors...Each poem sounds like the author has dipped into a childs mind and draws attention to elements that may be thought or worried about but are very rarely discussed. Poems such asLooking After MumandGrandads Leaving Home,approach upsetting topics in a sensitive and supportive way."

* Just Imagine *

"A wonderful collection of poems, exploring a wide range of subjects and emotions. Some are full of humour, others poignant - all enjoyable."

* Through The Bookshelf *

"There is a capable variety of poetry forms included within this selection. Whats more, theres a variation of subjects too, though there are hopes, dreams, ambitions, from star gazing, to mountain climbing, considering other peoples lives and achievements...Bookwagonloves and recommendsWhere Do Wishes Goand looks forward to further books from this poet."

* Bookwagon *

"Bertulis is most interested in exploring people and relationships, which she does in an enviably spare and straightforward way, finding an approach, often with a gentle humour, that subtly evokes a response in the reader.
