" Action Art -- art in action! This is the best of childhood, right herea combination of two things kids really love to do: MOVE and CREATE. MaryAnn Kohl's art books have guided us for years now, and this one with Barbara Zaborowski will be a treasure to add to the shelf. I'm so excited about these active art ideas!" Jean Van't Hul, author, The Artful Parent and owner, The Artful Parent blog

As an early childhood educator and homeschooling mother, I constantly recommend MaryAnn's books to parents and educators. Lee, Early Childhood Educator, author, The Homegrown Preschooler and 1 01 Easy, Wacky, Crazy Activities for Young Children

Action Art allows kids to jump into active art using everyday materials. This will be a staple in my classroom!" Marianne Dambra, President, ECE Network of Rochester, author, Cooking is Cool: Heat-Free Recipes for Kids to Cook
"Any art book from MaryAnn Kohl is a fantastic source of inspiration, and Action Art with Barbara Zaborowski is no exception. "I'm blown away by Action Art -- it is so fabulous! Kohl's art books are amazing and inspiring, and this one with Zaborowski makes me want to get up and move and make some active art! I particularly love the "pounding paint". I almost popped out of my chair and went to find my mallet! I can't imagine how much fun this would be for kids! Move over, Jackson Pollock -- Action Art is here!" Karen Katz, author & illustrator, Counting Kisses and 55 other books
"There is so much joyful energy in Action Art ! This book bursts with color, fun and inspiration for young artists. I love how out-of-the- ordinary art materials are included, such as car tires, power drills and tricycles, and yet every activity is something anyone could try in their home or classroom. Action Art will have children of all ages exploring creativity with big smiles to match!" Cathy James, editor, NurtureStore, a kids creative learning website

Not only will you find ways to engage children in meaningful, fun, and sometimes downright thrilling creative art activities, you'll have no trouble identifying the myriad ways children are learning.
