The pronouns aren't just enjoying their day at the sculpture garden, they're loving it! That topiary He looks like a trumpet player. This topiary It looks like a dinosaur! Who's ready for an informative yet giggle-filled grammar adventure You and me!
As the background illustrations lead to shenanigans in the garden and a visit from first responders, the statements given to police provide opportunities to describe personal, possessive, interrogative, and indefinite pronouns. A final page sums up pronouns and their types in helpful charts. The overall silliness of this volume makes an often-dreaded grammar lesson more enjoyable.-- "Booklist"
The different parts of speech, from nouns to adjectives to conjunctions, are brought to life in these vibrant volumes directed at developing writers. With brightly colored illustrations and lovable cartoon characters, "Word Adventures" is eye-catching and will have wide appeal for a series on grammar. Each title places the parts of speech in a scenario (the nouns go to the museum, the conjunctions are camping) to explain how they work. . . .While these are intended for a primary audience, they could also be useful for upper elementary students needing a grammar refresh. These charming titles are a first purchase for elementary language arts collections.-- "School Library Journal"
