Birds live everywhere: in cities, jungles, water, countryside, and forests... They are unafraid of Antarctic frost or tropical heat. They are very different: tiny like a Havana hummingbird and huge like an African ostrich, friendly like sparrows and intelligent like crows, colorful like parrots and gray like thrushes. They fly, run, swim, build homes, and lay eggs. Most enjoy company, but some prefer solitude. There are nearly ten thousand species.
