Description

In this African traditional tale, Anansi wants some of Tiger's mangoes, but Tiger doesn't want to share. Anansi thinks of a clever way to trick Tiger and get some of the mangoes.

This story is part of Reading Champion, a series carefully linked to book bands to encourage independent reading skills, developed with Dr Sue Bodman and Glen Franklin of UCL Institute of Education (IOE)

Damian Harvey lives in North Wales with his lovely wife, Vicky. He has three wonderful daughters, one brilliant boy and a cat called Polly. He has written more than 130 books for primary school aged children and is busy writing more. Edyta Karaban (Illustrator)

Edyta Karaban is a Children's book illustrator and author. She was born and lives Wroclaw, Poland and graduated from the University of Wroclaw, majoring in art history.

She has been illustrating books for several years. She has a cat at home who is often a source of inspiration, and she loves drawing animals and creating animal characters, sometimes giving them human traits and attributes.

She lives in a city but always dreams of being closer to nature. Fortunately, there is a big park next to her home, which she visits daily.

Baking cakes always cheers her up, and if she wasn't an illustrator, she would probably have made cakes and desserts for a living!
