Author Bio

Grace Lee Nute was a specialist in Minnesota history and the author or editor of numerous books in this field. She was a professor of Minnesota history at Hamline University. She served as curator of manuscripts for the Minnesota Historical Society from 1921 to 1946 and research associate from 1946 to 1957. Among her books are The Voyageur, The Voyageurs Highway, Caesars of the Wilderness (which won a prize award of the American Historical Association), and Rainy River Country.
