Description

This is the story of a group of farmers in central western New South Wales fighting to rehabilitate and revegetate land degraded by 100 years and more of farming. Written by a conservation expert, it is both an authoritative and engaging read. Essential background for Landcare scheme participants, it will also appeal to those who enjoy reading about the Australian bush and the people who live there. Bound to become a standard of conservation literature.

Author Bio

Chris Williams has a PhD from the University of Melbourne in landscape ecology and anthropology. He works as conservation manager for the Trust For Nature. His interest in land and landscape was sparked by family involvements: his mothers' relatives farmed in South Gippsland and the Mallee, and his father, a university manager, helped set up the Centre for Environmental Studies at the University of Melbourne.
